The exhibition HOME AGAIN features contemporary photography and video works that explore the adaptability of a rapidly changing society. The artists set out in search of responses to the global transformation processes that are shaping our world today. How do people come together during and after crises? How do they centre themselves again? And how do they regain their grounding in what may be a new home? Adaptation as a means of perpetuating our community.

The group exhibition IRAN inside out shows contemporary photography and video works by German and Iranian women photographers dealing with society in Iran. Each photographer has chosen her own artistic approach to capture her experiences. And the tension between modernity and tradition. The title „IRAN inside out“ takes up this view of the situation in Iran, both from within and from afar, and looks at the changes and developments in the country. All five participating artists either live in Iran, are born in Iran or have worked in Iran for a longer period of time.

The exhibition FRAGMENTS OF WAR – PICTURES FROM UKRAINE shows the photographs of Johanna-Maria Fritz, Helena Lea Manhartsberger and Laila Sieber. The three photographers made their way to Ukraine at the beginning of the war. They wanted to be there themselves and capture the incomprehensible in pictures: a war of aggression in Europe, an attack on democracy.

This exhibition MAKE it HOME shows contemporary photography and video works dealing with the subject of "being at home". Göran Gnaudschun, Andy Heller, Oliver Krebs, Minna Rainio & Mark Roberts, Alec Soth and Juliane Zelwies each investigate the appropriation of places – an issue of particular relevance in times of fundamental change. The loss of habitat, structural re-adjustment, and mass immigration do not make it easy for those seeking a new home. Home is not a given, we have to create it. It is an active process, through which we must liberate ourselves from our origins – be they geographic or cultural – to find our home once more.
