Planespotting (2014)

In the first series on the Canary Islands I address the omnipresence of airplanes on Lanzarote. Aircraft noise everywhere. Airplanes as far as the eye can see. Planes above the beaches, planes above the promenades, planes above the hotels.

In Planespotting I am referencing holiday snapshot photography. With the iphone camera I am following the aricraft trajectories and the landscape becomes the stage for the main protagonist up in the sky. As in my series Ostersbaum and still und leise, single images and image series, which record a chronological sequence, tell a short story.
